Wild & Welcoming Rainforest
Green, misty, alive with jungle sounds,
and more than a little mysterious, Khao Sok
National Park is southern Thailand’s premier
rain forest reserve.
You can hear gibbons calling from the
treetops; see brilliant beaked hornbills
flying above the emerald canopy; see wild
elephants roaming freely over lush
mountainsides, where tigers, leopards, and
jungle cats stalk their prey by night.
More than 49 species of mammals, 187 species
of birds and thousands species of trees and
plants have been recorded here.
And there are many discoveries yet to be
made. |

Rafflesia,
the world largest flower,
reaching 80 cm in diameter was recently
discovered just a short hike from our
resort.
This is one of very few places in the world,
where this botanical miracle occurs.
At Khao Sok Rain forest you too can discover
the magic of a tropical rain forest.
737 sq. Km of National Park connected to
four other parks and wildlife sanctuaries –
a vast, unexplored wilderness literally at
your doorstep.
At Khao Sok Rain forest you always stay in
style… at home with Nature. |

Wat Tham Suea
(the Temple in the Tiger
Cave)
It was founded by a monk called Adjaan
(teacher) Jamnien Silasettho.
The temple, that is one of the most famous
meditation centres, received its name from a
stone formation that is looking similar to
the claw of a tiger.
Today, about 240 monks and nuns are living
in this temple compound. Two staircases
climb up to the limestone cliffs, the first
one leads with 1137 steps to the top of the
mountain offering a superb view around,
while the second one with only 137 stairs
leads into a valley where the simple huts of
the monks are standing beside some giant
trees. |
